That to-do list you keep putting off? I'll knock it out in a day.

I'm Dan, and I handle the small and mid-size jobs bigger contractors don't call back about: drywall patches, sticking doors, new light fixtures, TV mounts, trim, and the rest of the list on your fridge.

  • Written price before I start
  • Most jobs within a week
  • I clean up after myself

What I do

Repairs, installs & small builds

If it's on your list and doesn't need a plumber's or electrician's license, I can probably handle it. Not sure? Send me a photo.

Starting at $125 · most patches $125–$300

Starting at $129 · in-wall cable concealment +$95

Furniture assembly

Flat-pack dressers, beds, desks, cribs and outdoor sets built square, anchored to the wall where it matters, boxes hauled off.

Starting at $75 per item · typically $75–$200

Decks, fences & exterior

Replace rotted deck boards and fence pickets, rebuild a step, re-hang a gate, re-caulk windows and patch siding.

Meet the owner

Hi, I'm Dan Whitaker.

I spent twelve years framing and finishing houses for a builder in Knoxville before going out on my own in 2011. These days I'd rather spend a morning making your house work right than a year on somebody else's subdivision.

It's me who shows up, me who does the work, and me who answers the phone. I give you a written price before I start, I put down drop cloths, and I don't leave until the job looks the way it should.

  • Lives in Oak Ridge with his wife and two very loud beagles
  • Ford Transit with every tool for the job, so fewer trips to the store on your dime
  • Happy to walk you through a fix if you'd rather do it yourself
“If I wouldn't do it that way in my own house, I won't do it that way in yours.”

FAQ

Questions I get a lot

Is there a minimum charge?

Yes, $95, which covers the first hour on site. Most people save up two or three small things for the same visit so they get the most out of it.

Do you buy the materials?

Either way works. If you've already got the fixture or the paint, great. If not, I'll pick it up and add it to the bill at cost, with the receipt.

Can you do electrical or plumbing work?

I swap fixtures, fans, faucets and switches on existing wiring and plumbing. Anything new, like circuits, panels, moving pipes, goes to a licensed electrician or plumber, and I'm glad to recommend one.

How soon can you come out?

Most jobs get on the calendar within a week, and small urgent fixes like a door that won't lock are often same or next day.

How do I pay?

When the job's done and you've had a look. Card, check, cash, Venmo or Zelle. Bigger projects are a 30% deposit for materials, balance on completion.

Do you guarantee your work?

If something I did isn't right within a year, call me and I'll come back and fix it at no charge.
